This wonderfully flavorful GUM is sweetened exclusively with cavity-fighting xylitol. Each piece contains 1.06 grams of xylitol! Flavors include Cinnamon, Fresh Fruit, Peppermint, Spearmint, and Wintergreen.

Xylitol -- A Safe Alternative to Sugar
Epic gum is a safe alternative to sugar-based gums and is free of gluten and casein. Calcium Carbonate has replaced the Titanium Dioxide formerly found in Epic Gum. The corn from which Epic xylitol is made is pharmaceutical grade, non-GMO (genetically modified organisms), and is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Once the xylitol is made, there are no corn proteins left to provide allergens that could cause a corn-based reaction. The gum does use a soy-based lecithin.

Dental Benefits of Xylitol Use
Along with proper dental hygiene, xylitol can reduce the risk of dental caries and plaque. Xylitol-sweetened products, such as chewing gums and mints, increase salivary flow, preventing dry mouth and aiding in repair of damaged tooth enamel.

"With xylitol use, the quality of the bacteria in the mouth changes and fewer and fewer decay-causing bacteria survive on tooth surfaces. Less plaque forms and the level of acids attacking the tooth surface is lowered." California Dental Association

Experts who have studied the effects of xylitol on teeth recommend:
  • Daily intake of 6 grams of xylitol for patients at high risk for cavities
  • Use of xylitol products that actively stimulate saliva, such as xylitol gum
  • Distribution of the daily intake over at least three occasions (e.g. – after meals)
  • Use of 100% xylitol sweetened products
TMJ patients avoiding gum chewing may prefer Xylitol Mints, Toothpaste, Oral Rinse and Dental Floss as alternatives to gum as part of a daily xylitol routine.
